The Name

The Anemoi were the Greek Gods of the classical compass winds, which refers to the practice in ancient Greece and Rome of naming and associating winds with their geographic direction and orientation. The four Anemoi were Boreas (the north wind, and the partial name sake of the aurora borealis, or the northern lights), Notus (the south wind), Eurus (the east wind), and Zephyrus (the west wind). It is the directional aspect of the Anemoi (along with the use of a compass rose in our logo) which is the basis of our name, since our goal is to provide our customers with direction in their decision making based on timely and accurate geographic based data, or in short, to provide direction driven by data.
